Course description
Overview
In this workshop, Pillars of an Applied Educational Neuroscience Framework, participants will further their knowledge of how the brain responds to trauma, inclusive of toxic stress, and learn practical strategies to support children/youth utilizing the four pillars of Dr. Desautels' Applied Educational Neuroscience Framework: 1) Educator Brain and Body States, 2) Co-Regulation, 3) Touchpoints, 4) Teaching Neuroanatomy.

Continuing Education Information
TASN SMHI is an approved provider for the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (#18-011). Social workers may receive 5 continuing education credits for each day. Certificates of attendance will be available to download upon completion of a brief evaluation at the conclusion of the day.

Learning Objectives
- Identify practices that support each of the four pillars at the classroom and system levels.
- Articulate how the four pillars can be utilized to develop and sustain a trauma-responsive school community.
- Develop a plan (either at the classroom or systems-level) for application of the Educational Neuroscience Framework utilizing the four pillars.
Refund Policy
Registration may be cancelled up to 14 days prior to the event for a full refund. Cancellations received within 14 days of the event will not be refunded. No-show registrations will also not be refunded.
