The Kansans Can Competency Framework, in collaboration with KSDE, is offering a 3-session virtual training series [April 2, April 9, and April 16, 2024] designed to promote quality instructional coaching on intrapersonal and interpersonal competencies such as self-efficacy. Schools and districts implementing intrapersonal and/or interpersonal competency instruction are encouraged to identify key staff who can serve in the role of a competency coach. Competency coaches are often instructional coaches, counselors, administrators, or teachers in grades K–12. Through this interactive series consisting of three 2-hour webinars, participants will better understand how to support their colleagues who are implementing competency instruction and guiding students’ practice of competency strategies. Participants will gain knowledge of six coaching behaviors and practice each behavior to improve educators’ confidence and agency while promoting students’ resilience.
