Tablet computing is taking the world of education by storm. iPads have been the favored device of most school districts, but as larger-scale implementations and shrinking budgets are considered, districts are taking a look at the Android-based devices as well. The features available on each device and operating system very widely, as do the management and availability of the apps for each operating system. This presentation will address the similarities and differences between the operating systems and devices, the management and availability of apps, and resources to assess the instructional or compensatory nature of apps for the classroom.
